hot pink pilates
Are classes open to all?
Yes! We all need some hot pink energy sometimes! Classes are open to all genders, ages and bodies.
Which class is right for me?
If you enjoy a slower flow / pace of class and something more mindful, I'd recommend Pilates. Barre offers a higher intensity if you're after something more upbeat that still focuses on toning and strengthening.
What makes Hot Pink Pilates different?
We offer much more than an exercise class; Hot Pink Pilates is a wellness community and signature experience. I am committed to providing an inclusive, positive and supportive space. The fitness industry can be toxic and overwhelming, and sadly there is still a long way to go - many gyms and instructors are still using marketing campaigns to prey on our self esteem and 'guilt' us into signing up. I offer a different mindset; moving our bodies is an act of self love. I do not use negative or triggering language when I teach and strive to create a community in which everyone feels safe and welcome.
Can I attend class if I'm a total beginner?
Yes; although for Pilates and Barre classes you might feel more comfortable getting to grips with your technique in a few private sessions first. All classes offer modified variations to tailor to your needs.
What should I wear?
Something you are comfortable moving and sweating in. Pilates and Barre you may go barefoot or wear grip socks.
What is 'the barre burn?'
When we work muscles until fatigue you may experience a burning or even shaking sensation, often in the legs and glutes - this is simply a build up of lactic acid as we challenge the body. It's always fine to shake this off, or you may find as you develop stamina you're able to stay with this sensation a little longer each time.
What do I need?
A bottle of water. Pilates & Barre: Please bring a mat, and if you wish you can wear grip socks.
What style of Pilates do you teach?
I am a contemporary matwork teacher so although my teachings are based off the classical repetoire of Joseph Pilates, my class is also influenced by up to date research on the human body as Pilates continues to evolve. My classes have a strength and fitness focus, so we often use small equipment to get a little bit more out of your workout. Expect to be challenged, but we always prioritise form, technique and mind-body connection as every authentic Pilates class should.
I have an injury or health condition, can I attend class?
Please seek medical advice on any concerns you may have. Once you're clear to exercise, please notify me of any injuries or conditions. All clients are required to complete a Par-Q.
